I aim to keep my groups small. Although I am insured for up to six dogs per walking party, I find that everyone has a better time with around four. Occasionally my own two dogs may join, but usually, that is when the group is smaller.
Yes, every dog will be allowed one trial walk, totally free of charge. I like to do this without any other dogs present, so your dog can become used to my voice, etc. During this walk, your dog is kept on a lead, and given lots of attention.
At the end of every calendar month, I send my lovely clients an email, with their invoice attached. The invoice covers that month. I do not bill in advance. The invoice has the business bank details at the bottom of the page.
Things happen, I understand. I do not expect to be paid for a walk you've had to cancel. I like to think there's a level of trust and respect, between my clients and myself. All I ask is that you let me know at the earliest possible time. With that in mind, I have chosen not to implement a cancellation fee.
I do. However, I do this on a case-by-case basis. I have met many intact males who are perfectly lovely. The only restriction is, if one of the females goes into heat, the males may need to be moved to another group, or kept on a lead.
Off-lead time is absolutely allowed, even preferred. However, I would only do this with your permission, and I usually keep a dog on the lead for the first couple of walks anyway. I like the dogs to know my voice and to know that I'm a safe place for them to return. I test recall very carefully, and I watch them like a hawk. I also have multiple types of lead, including long lines, so even the cheekiest explorer has a chance to run around.
I love my clients to see pictures and videos of their dogs, interacting and playing with others. However, I make the choice not to include the names of the dogs in these posts. I also never disclose location or times, I never post live videos, and all social media posts are done at the end of the day, or even the next day.
My main goal is to ensure that all dogs are matched with others of a similar or compatible personality. I carefully plan each day to ensure that every dog has the best experience. With this in mind, it is very difficult to give an exact time for pick-up. Officially, the pick-up can be anywhere from 10:00 until 14:30; however, please tell me if you have a preferred time and I'll try to arrive as close to it as possible.
Although rare, heatwaves are super dangerous for dogs. Anything over 23°C can be a risk to your dog's health. My walks are always in woodland, and I carry plenty of clean water, but there is still a limit as to how warm is tolerable for dogs. This means that on those super warm days, it might be better to move your dog's walk to much earlier in the day, or even later, essentially avoiding those dangerous mid-day hours. Alternatively, I could visit your dog, take them out for a couple of minutes to do their business, change their water, and give them a bit of attention. This drop-in service is charged at £8.
I happily walk dogs in the rain and snow. If you have a coat or jumper you want your dog to wear, please leave it out and I'll make sure they're dressed for their outing. If the snow is so bad that I am unable to drive, I will do my best to get to those within walking distance. Also, if during the walk, they happen to step on grit, I'll clean their feet. However, it's very unlikely that grit is spread in the places my walks are done. If it's just too cold for the dogs, I can offer the drop-in service for £8.
